Used to be one of the best apps. now it’s useless. The Roku app constantly crashes when I open it , the AppleTv app crashes when I press play on any show , it won’t cast to any device and it freezes on my iPhone and IPad. to add insult when I contact customer service to cancel and get a prorated refund they basically said no . Smh

On my TVOS since updating to 14 I can barely keep it open. Selecting a TV will crash t he app.
  • Doesn’t work on Apple TV

    By KC1974
Ok - I paid for the year. The only way I can watch the service on my TV is through AirPlay. The Apple TV app does not work. It opens, but try to play something, it plays a few seconds of sound, no picture, and then force closes back to the home screen. Sometimes it doesn’t get that far and force closes if you try to look at a list of episodes. Do BritBox even have developers anymore???? They haven’t updated the app in 11 months. Ps the App Support link right here on the AppStore goes to a 404 error page. They can’t even get that right! Update: Developer response was to uninstall and reinstall the app... the usual response. Also, integration with the Apple TV TV+ app is non-existent. “Up next” or search and if it’s anything on BritBox, it throws you to a grey screen with the logo in their app. Even on iPhone. I give up. The programs - awesome. This service and this app = absolute sh¡te..
  • No continuous play

    By skychey131313131313
When I cast to my t.v. For some reason it won’t continually play. For example, watching a program that has multiple episodes in a series. If I am watching on my mobile device, the show will end and the next will begin continuously. However when casting, this doesn’t happen.
  • Love British TV, AppleTV app is frustrating

    By LKOmage
After update to latest AppleTV OS, crashes when trying to view any content. Closed captioning needs to match AppleTV setting, and allow to have CC on always.
  • Great, Except...

Love the app, but the capability of accessing what you’re in the middle of watching or have watched. When I first open the app, sometimes the episodes I’m in the middle of will come up, but not always. The app never indicates what’s been watched and there’s no place in the app to go to pull these things up. This is the only service I can get access to QI, so I just have to deal with it, but it’s frustrating.
  • Crashes on tvOS 14

As of 2020-09-16, the BritBox app crashes when attempting to play content. Unsure when update might be released, but, if this problem persists, I will be cancelling my subscription.

I want to cancel and you make it very hard to do that.
  • Service is great, app, not so much

    By Rbryoung
The BritBox service itself is great, offering both new and classic British TV shows and movies. There’s always a great selection, and new content seems to be added with good regularity. It’s nice to not be very delayed on Gardner’s World stateside - especially since it is so time-oriented! But the app! Awful. First, it is not built for modern iPads. The aspect ratio of the app is stuck in 2015 with the original iPad’s screen size. So, those of us on iPad Pros or the new iPad Airs are stuck with black bars on either side of the screen. When you combine that with so many shows shot in widescreen format, the viewing area of the show is only about 60% of the screen. It’s absolutely maddening. I also have many of the other problems that other reviewers have mentioned. As of this review, the app hasn’t been updated for 7 months. BBC & ITV would be better served by an app that is only one year out of date - as opposed to the half decade we’re approaching rapidly.
