I learned more in the first three months of using this app than I did in four years at university. The Brilliant method of learning is a true breakthrough in education, and it appears that they are just getting started.

I’ve tried a lot of the brain game apps and this one is by far the best. Great design and execution. Highly recommend.
  • No Parental Controlled Gmail Accounts Allowed

Brilliant at first seemed “brilliant”. Then, as I was extolling the virtues of this app to my 9-year old daughter while getting her logged in with her Gmail account, we were presented with the notice “No Family Linked Gmail Accounts May Be Used” (paraphrasing). Thanks so much developers of Brilliant. We parents seeking to protect our young children from being mined mercilessly for information just got the door slammed in our faces by what “appears” to be a youth focused educational app. As much value as your app may portend, it means nothing if its use compromises my child’s internet safety. And I gotta think you KNEW this because you’re brilliant after all. Time to move on to other educational apps placing my child’s safety above their desire to extract and resell ANY bits of information about their minor users.

we all spend way too much nonproductive time on our phones. brilliant has helped me turn down time into another way to exercise my brain and keep up to date with skills i already have. it’s also given me an amazing new way to learn the basics of things that are new to me!

  • More Thinking!

It’s nice to see software geared towards thinking instead of killing. I only wish there was a middle ground between the free content and the subscription. I wouldn’t pay that much for productivity software. I certainly won’t for entertainment.

Looked like a cool app from the Today page of the App Store. Thought I would try it out for a while since it’s Free to download. Then I had to sign up to even see what content it had within the app. Then I get an ad for a 7 day free trial and then can pay $150 for a yearly subscription. There’s no options to pay monthly that I could find in the app. The daily quizzes are cool. The lessons cover a variety of math and science topics but each lesson seems shallow in content and similar to other educational apps that have been around for a while. Didn’t really hold my interest for too long, and the high subscription price is turning me away. Too bad they didn’t have a monthly subscription at an affordable price.
